Our Forum

The Forum is organized by the regional government of Kursk region and AK&M News Agency.

The Mid-Russian macroregion is one of Russia’s best-developed areas. With many industrial centers, it attracts highly skilled specialists and develops hi-tech production plants including backbone cross-industry R&D and engineering hubs. It is these regions that provide a unique opportunity for expanding economic capacities and enhancing the investment environment.

Kursk region has all reasons to be chosen as the Forum venue. The investment appeal of the region is growing in the wake of the stable development of its economy. Benefiting from a flow of investments in agriculture, municipal districts are constructing and reconstructing production facilities. Eager to boost economic development in the region, to improve the business environment, the government authorities are always ready for a dialogue and exchange of opinions.

The Mid-Russian economic forum will address priorities of the further economic development in the Mid-Russian regions and present advanced investment programs. Its primary objectives are to establish a background for the comprehensive adjustment of sustainable relations between Central Russian regions and the European countries, to attract investors and lenders, and to develop efficient interaction mechanisms for official authorities and the financial community.

Representatives of Russia’s relevant ministries and departments, the leading Russian companies and international corporations, foreign diplomatic missions, heads of the regional enterprises, leaders of the banking community, decision-makers of investment companies and funds will take part in the Forum.

The Forum participants are welcome at the plenary session and the subsequent topical panel discussions: “Financing industrial enterprise development projects and locating new production capacities in Kursk region: modern solutions”, “Investment projects in the agricultural sector of the region”, “Innovation-based development of the Mid-Russian macroregion: prospects and opportunities”, “Tourism potential of Kursk region. New approaches towards inter-regional cooperation in attracting tourists: rivalry or partnership?”

The plenary session will be moderated by Maxim Shevchenko, journalist & presenter at Russia’s TV1.

The forum provides for informal meetings during cultural events, exhibitions and state receptions, with unique opportunities to meet and talk to representatives of the official authorities and the business community.

In particular, the Forum will coincide with Kursk Korenskaya Fair 2012, one of the greatest large-scale events for the Mid-Russian region dating back to the 17th century.
