Kursk region’s rating has improved, ARSEP informs

According to the rating report of the Agency for Regional Social and Economic Projects (ARSEP, Voronezh), the rating of Kursk region taking account of its social and economic development improved in 2011. With a number of good results, Kursk region has joined the regions with a mixed development trend profile, according to a statement made by the information support management of Kursk region’s Information and Press Committee.

According to ARSEP, Kursk region has done a lot to approach the construction commencement of the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant II. Successful implementation of the nuclear power plant project will invigorate the market of construction materials, create new jobs and stimulate the whole regional economy.

OJSC Mikhaylovskiy GOK is implementing a large calcination kiln construction project which has already absorbed RUB 3.7 billion of the total amount of investment (RUB 13 billion). Another key project for the region is upgrading the production facilities at Kurskhimvolokno, the largest Russian producer of synthetic fibers and filaments for quite a lot of industrial applications. Kurskhimvolokno accounts for 80% of technical yarns, 98% of textured yarns, 98% of complex yarns and 99% of staple fiber consumed in Russia.

Implementation of these large-scale projects improves the social and economic environment in the region, enhances the position of the local business community.
